The SDIA Truck Driving School Program uses the Professional Truck Drivers Institute's (PTDI) curriculum.

A typical class schedule consists of morning hours being spent in the classroom with an Instructor. This time includes studying the textbook and various materials, hands-on activities, videos, lectures, knowledge testing, special speakers and labs. Our classroom sessions are informative, interesting, simple to follow, effective and productive.

Afternoon sessions are typically comprised of Labs, Pad, Range, Road and going over Driving Skills pertaining to the specific topics covered each day.

Our 5 week program consists of 162 hours with a minimum of 44 hours “Behind the Wheel” training.

Driver Affirmation:

I will be a Safe & Professional Driver! I will be properly rested. I will perform complete pre-trips with brake checks. I will use 3-point entrances and exits. I will run legal speeds slower than the flow of traffic. I will maintain a minimum of 8-12 seconds following distance. I will make sure I am visually scanning with my mirrors adjusted. I will always get out and look before I back up. I will always block with my trailer when I am making a right-hand turn. And, by always doing these things, I will prevent most accidents from happening!

Why? Because..."My Safety is Intentional...Not Accidental"!!!
